Cottage on Lake Simcoe

A moderate-sized year-round Lake Simcoe cottage in a private enclave for a couple from Toronto intending to live here all year round.

Much was achieved on a modest budget. There is a large main room accomodating sitting, dining, and the kitchen. The room has views and light from the south and out north to the water. It encourages natural ventilation. The bedrooms are compactly arranged as a two storey portion perpendicular in plan to the main room. A dramatic stair links the levels including an artist’s studio in the basement.
